DVI/HDMI cable makes picture not full screen?

Hello. I just switched my component cables on my Comcast HD box to the DVI/HDMI cable. Now, all of my non-HD channels aren't full screen like they used to be. I have everything set at 16:9 and it is full screen on all HD channels. Is there any way to correct this or is it a result of using digital cables?

For a 4X3 standard picture to fill your 16X9 screen you would have to use the zoom function on your t.v. but when you do this picture will distort, Just let the t.v. do its thing and enjoy steweee

But it worked before!

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm just wondering how come it changed as soon as I started using the DVI/HDMI cable. Everything was normal when I was using component cables. All of the regular channels would fill the whole screen, as well as HD channels. Now, only the HD channels are full screen. Oh well.

MR COR WHY?

Your componit cables fed an anolog signal to your t.v. now with h.d.m.i. its in a digital form. So your t.v. will adjust to the picture size being transmitted. Also the picture quality with h.d.m.i. should be much better. dont forget the snack bar and enjoy stew
