DVI-D port

Dec 9, 2005 11:58PM PST

After adapting my Apple Studio Display's ADC to DVI through Dr. Bott's DVIAtor, I connected the monitor to my cable co.'s Motorola DCT6200 HD receiver's DVI-D port. Why don't I get a video?

also keep in mind that there are a few versions of DVI cables out there, not all are the same. most common 3 are ones that transfers only analog signal (to a crt computer monitor), ones that transfer digital signal (to an lcd computer monitor), and one that transfers both analog and digital (mostly for tv's). these are not interchangable FOR THE MOST PART, so be careful

If I follow you correctly, I can get video to my pc LCD panel when I use a DVI-D rated cable from my cable box DVI-D port to the monitor DVI-D input.
