Question

DVI and HDMI Won't Work at the Same Time

Apr 17, 2011 10:57PM PDT

I am running Windows XP. My computer has an ATI Radeon HD4300/4500 video card. IT has three outputs: DVI, VGA, and HDMI. I'm using the DVI output to run my monitor, but when I plug in the HDMI to my TV, it's only one or the other, not both. Same if I run the VGA signal to my monitor. Is there any way to feed my monitor and my TV so a picture can be seen on each at the same time? If not, is there another way to achieve my goal? Thanks!

HDMI/DVI Conflict
Aug 28, 2015 4:55PM PDT

I have ATI catalyst Windows 10 and I cannot get my PC to accept a monitor from DVI and HDMI at the same time I a running a USB adapter for a third monitor. I am used to 4 so I figured I would give the HDMI port a shot. no luck. Both DVI and HDMI monitors go to sleep.
The mother board is a Biostar A880G, if that has any relevance. How can I utilize the HDMI port?

This is one old thread.

I've never heard of the PC make or model you listed. There are reports of mulitiple monitor issues in Windows 10. However that's all about drivers and not a Microsoft issue. You get back to the card maker and see if they issued Windows 10 drivers.

If not, just RMA it for a working board.

that sounds right

check your motherboard maker. Some are either/or, but not both.

and P. This will give you the option to project to TV and Screen at same time, Only Tv and Only Screen. If that isn't the right key combination there is a place in the control panel to do it. Also look under Windows help
