Resolved Question

DVDs on iPad?

Mar 12, 2012 10:40AM PDT

I have a first-generation iPad (16 GB). Is there a reliable way to watch DVD movies on it (e.g. from Netflix), either by copying to my computer and then transferring, or by attaching a peripheral device?

While I have not attempted to connect an external DVD drive (not sure it is possible), I have used the iPad application to watch Netflix movies via a wifi connection.

convert the DVD to iPad shape, size and format.
Put the result in iTunes
Sync the iPad.

Right, handbrake works

with handbrake, you can easily convert DVD to correct format, which can be supported by your iPad. But you have to pay attention the size and other parameter. that's because DVD movies have large size, even after the conversion. 16G may allow only1-2movies store.

Copied a movie and transferred to the iPad with no issues. Haven't tried watching it yet. Storage isn't an issue; I'd only be copying 1-2 at a time and then deleting from the iPad after watching.
