I can't offer much here. It could be the driver issue, it could be we need to remove some registry entries, but not with this little detail.

DVD Drive doesnot work in Windows 10

DVD drive works in Linux Ubuntu on same computer I downloaded Windows 10 on but no longer works in Windows 10 which means the problem is in Windows 10. I would very much like to get it working again in Windows. Confused Surely someone at C/net as the expertise to help getting it working again.

I need a little more.

In device manage it could be noting the old CODE 19, CODE 21, CODE 42 etc. That's not a "Windows" issue at all. But maybe I'm slicing it too finely.

Linux is far more adept than Windows. For example if your PC needs a motherboard driver for Windows, Linux may have it already. I know you want a cure but I can't guess which of the dozen causes it is here. That's why I asked for any more detail.

try going to the computer manufacturers website

go to the computer manufacturers website and see if they have the drivers for your specific computer model.

btw - cnet does have the expertise but they do not have esp.
