Question

DVD/CD drive not found

Aug 7, 2016 12:38AM PDT

Hello

- I bought a new PC, with Windows 10
- When I put a commercial CD (audio) or commercial DVD (video), the computer can find the drive and play the content = OK
- When I put a DVD I engraved (pictures, videos, excel files, etc.) with Ashampoo on Windows 7, the drive is not found (there is a little noise then it does not appear in Windows Explorer)!
- I even engraved a new DVD with some data, it worked, then it cannot be read because the driver is not found!

Any idea?

Thanks in advance for your help!

DVD not found

Can you be more detailed and more consistent? Is it the drive that is not found or the driver? And what exactly is "not found"?

Let me say that drive has drive letter d:. Then you put in a burned DVD and what happens then? The drive and the driver already have been found (otherwise it wouldn't have a drive letter).

Try this.
Copy a file to a disc using windows native burning program.
If that works remove the disc.
Now insert the disc.
Can w7 read it?

" When I put a DVD I engraved (pictures, videos, excel files, etc.) with Ashampoo on Windows 7, the drive is not found (there is a little noise then it does not appear in Windows Explorer)!"

I've seen that when the "engraving" program used a method that doesn't work across machines. There's this drag to DVD and drop that is easy to use but results in media that doesn't work across PCs.

Tell more about your engraving program.
