DVD vs Pure CD audio

Feb 15, 2006 2:36AM PST

I'm looking to buy an old B&O Beogram CD7000 - can anyone tell me if a dedicated CD player reproduces music better than a multi-format DVD?

If so, I'd also appreciate suggestions as to where I can pick up old B&O's? eBay seems to be clueless

The coolest looking CD payers,, no one that has one wants to sell it.
I doubt that anyone could easly tell the difference by listing. If you got a midrange DVD player$150~300. John

John is correct. There wouldn't be any difference between CD player and a DVD player because you would be playing a standard audio CD on either. The difference would come when using a DVD player that can play an "audio" DVD that has been professionally mixed for DVD 5.1 Audio. Most of these are awesome (i.e. Eagles "Hotel California"). Some new cars have audio DVD players that will play these (such as new Acura TL/RL). What an immersive experience hearing one of these properly mixed audio DVDs in a car using one of these players.
