When connecting your d.v.d. player try both h.d.m.i. and componit cables. in my set up I got a much better picture using h.d.m.i. also remember blue ray players have really droped in price $499 they will give you a stunning 1080P picture and do a awsome job at upconverting standard d.v.ds I have one and love it I might even pick up a h.d. player in the future there going to sell for less than $200 good luck stewee
In my search for a DVD player, I read here that HDTV's have built in upscaling. My Sony (3000)is capable of 1080p output. Does this mean that I can get any DVD player that doesn't upconvert, connect with component cables, and the TV will upconvert on it's own?
My manual states that component cables will provide 1080p output, so it sounds like I don't need to connect via HDMI, even thought the TV has HDMI.
