DVD suddenly unable to play back

I have a Dell Latitude 600-XP Professional-I had not used DVD for several weeks. tried yesterday. Would not play; received message instructing me to change my display. Even though I did not think that was the problem ...I did so with no success. I then removed driver and reinstalled still no change. I am able to play back cd; checked dell for upgrades could not find any. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Usually A Sign The DVD/CD Drive Is Failing

We generally replace such as a common symptom of a failing drive is the drive will stop reading one type of disc or the other. Eventually it stops reading anything.. You can spend time and get headaches trying to troubleshoot such an issue but a new replacement drive normally takes care of the problem.

Hope this helps.

DVD drive not playing

How difficult is it to replace the drive on a Laptop

Some Are Extremely Easy.. Slide Out, Slide In..

Check your model as there is usually a release slider on the bottom of the computer which releases the drive so it can be pulled out the side of the machine. Buy the correct replacement drive and simply slide it back in.

Hope this helps.
