1st What is the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R
2nd -------------------------------DVD8x and DVD4x
I am asking these questions cause when I recorded a dvd from my hard disc and played back the 8x on my video cassette it says that there is no disc.
The good ones and (Played perfect) are DVD+R 4x.Should I use only these type of disc?
Any help will be appriciated.
Op System ....Win XP Prof SP2 + Nero Version6.3.1.17

The first question is easy to find out on google.com

The next one is that I find it best to record at 1/2 the rated media speed. You may disagree that this shouldn't be so, but I share what works for me.

You will also find that some DVD players don't like +R media and some won't play -R media. This will annoy you for years to come so figure out what works best for your players and stick with it.
