DVD-RW not reading blank media

Sep 23, 2004 9:32PM PDT

I have a problem with my computer.I have 3 cd/dvd rom drives in it.I have a DVD-rom,CD-rw,and a DVD-RW.For quite a while they all worked together just fine, but now the DVD-RW won't read a blank dvd. When I try to record something to dvd it gives me the insert blank media message. My DVD-RW uses DVD-R discs, which is what I use.I bought a new batch and thought it might be the problem, but I had a few of the old ones left, like the ones that I already had recorded on with no problems.I had my computer built by somebody, instead of purchasing an already built system. It has a 1.6g P4 processor,Windows XP Pro,512 mb RAM,120 gig hd.I don't know if you need this info or not, just thought I would give it to you just in case.I would appreciate any help you could offer me with this problem.Thanks,Frank.
