300 Watt is far too slim for an over 1GHz machine.
I have read this on other forums and i'm thinking this maybe the same problem i'm having. I have a PSU that's
300 watts. Would i need a more powerful PSU? Or should i trash my DVD Player?
System Specs: Duron 1.3, 384MB ram, 30 Gig HDD CD-R and DVD-Rom players, Soundcard, Nvidia Geforce4400 (i think it is).
Actually, "boxed" machines are usually just fine until we add memory, another drive, a better video card and what else.
Before you replace the supply, try this...
Find GEEXBOX on google.com, make the CD and see if it plays DVDs. That will at least give a clue that DVD play is possible.
As to the cause, the power supply is unlikely to be "the cause", so don't be surprised if you have more to do.

I have done memory/hard drive/mobo/heatrelated tests and are OK. And also removed and replaced cards etc and none of these have help fix them problem of freezing and shutdown my PC.
So the only two thingsthat haven't been tested or looked at are my PSU and DVD Player. Unless there is something else?
I'll try this GEEXBOX!
