DVD recorders

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum. What I want to know is: What is the difference between the Sony Multifunction DVD recorder VRD-MC5 and the same but MC3

I have two bids in ebay so please would someone get back asap?

Thanks, Val

Dvd recorder to computer
Nov 26, 2010 10:33AM PST

I have a dvd recorder that is about 6 years old. I can't burn to it anymore although it plays fine. I would like to save what I have. I bought a Pinnacle Dazzler to transer my Dvd recorder footage to my laptop but nothing comes up to capture. It does work because regular dvd's from a dvd player are able to be captured. Any suggestions as to why it doesn't work?

Many recorders block such attempts with something called MACROVISION. I decline discussing anything to do with disabling that beyond asking the maker of the DVD recorder why they did that.
