dvd recorder/player compatibility

by Tony445 / September 30, 2005 12:11 PM PDT

I have a magnavox vcr/dvd player recorder connected to a Sony dvd player. When I record dvd to dvd or vhs tape to dvd the magnavox performs well. The sony plays prerecorded dvds well but will not play. dvds recorded on the magnavox. I get a message on the Sony which says the disc is "dirty" which the Sony instruction book interprets as an unreadable disc. Additionally, the discs recorded on the Magnavox, which play back perfectly on the Magnavox will not play on still another Sony dvd player either. What is going on? Thanks for any help you can offer. P.S. I have no problem finalizing the discs on the Magnavox.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
