DVD problems?

by thesux / June 23, 2009 3:12 PM PDT

Hello, today my problem is the following.
I bought Bioshock. Wonderful Xbox game, wanted it on PC. You know the end of story. Everytime I try to play, I get weird *spikes* it's not lag nor anything it's just like it's taking alot of time to load and such, my fps can drop from 120 to like 5.

It's not my video card (Well, I hope) Because I can run Left 4 Dead on very high with 4x AA and Crysis with everything on high with 2x.

Help me pl0x.

In those you say something about an AMD single core CPU. Is that the system you are speaking about today or did you upgrade? If yes, then something (another process) is starting that requires resources from the computer. That is knocking down the game FPS while that other process is running. I play a very old game (by today's standards) on two different computers. On the single core machine, when a process starts up that requires resources, then FPS drop considerably until it gets done. On the dual core machine, no notice of any FPS change.

Good question. I have this title and without that tweak site it was nearly unplayable. I will not be answering your question directly but wanted to share the site that I used to get the game working well enough so my kid could play it.

So, with my setup, you think I will be able to play it or it's just gonna be ****?

My kid's machine is some 2GHz Intel dual core, 2GB RAM and a lowly Nvidia 6800. I can't answer your question directly since I don't own, operate your machine. All I have to offer is that tweak site saved the day.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
