Aug 6, 2004 12:00PM PDT

hello, anytime i try to open a dvd from my computer, winDVD freezes, then after a bit, an error window saying "The instruction at '0x1f434d6b' referenced memory at '0x0000000'. The memory could not be "written." also, when i try to open the dvd from windows media player, it freezes up as well. i'm running windows xp sp1, and the dvd is a licensed one i bought from a reputable chain. this error occurs on both my dvd, and dvd burning drive. can anyone provide insight?
