DVD Playback

Dec 29, 2009 2:16PM PST

VENTURING INTO THE REALMS OF THE UNKNOWN I successfully burned my first DVD, or so I thought. It played perfectly on my computer, but when I tried playback in my Sanyo DVD machine - NOTHING!, could it be they are not compatible? or, perhaps the fault lies with the "burn" for which I used the burn facility within Windows Media Player on Windows7 Laptop.

How did it burn

How did it burn the disc? Sometimes people will burn just the file to a disc and think that's enough, but to make something that will work in a DVD player will require a fair bit of doing.

So you put the disc into the drive on the computer, a directory listing window pops up, and what exactly do you see?

This was my first effort and obviously there is more I have to do other than simply "burn". I went into Windows Media and simply followed their instructions to burn a DVD which worked perfectly for it to play on the computer but very obviously there are more technicalities that must be applied. Any help would be most welcome.
