Do the obvious and clean the drive. Use a CD cleaner and a can of compressed air to be rid of dust bunnies. Infrequent use can cause such problems. Excluding any other cause, is there any error displayed? Try another disc like a music one, what are the results. Make a "bootable live Linux disc" gotten from a dist. website. Make the bootable from the .ISO file, use a friend's system or another to do so. Once done and proved it works, then mount on your system DVD drive. Reboot and provided the drive is the 1st bootable device, it will try to boot showing it has been accessed. Enter the bios to verify the boot sequence, change if need be and save upon exiting. Do *all* of the above, come back with results.

I have an Emachine T5224 runing Vista. I've used the DVD+-R/W / CD-R/W before but can not remember the last time. Anyway I've bought a new camera and a CD came with it to show me the functions, Oh ya that was the last time I used it so thats 2-3 months ago. So now I want to adjust it to night shots and put the disc in and nothing happens. What do I have to do to get it working again. Thanks
