DVD Flik questions

by teamfischer / July 22, 2011 1:21 AM PDT

Hi All,
I am having trouble burning a dvd using DVD Flik. Hopefully someone has the answer. Here is where I am at.

I own a ZI8 from Kodak. I take video of my baby. I am told it is only directly compatible with Apple, not Microsoft, because it is .mov (not certain). Therefore I needed to convert it. (as I was told)

Anyway, I downloaded DVD Flik a while back and had been using it to make DVDs that will play in my DVD player and also ona computer.

However just last night I went to use DVD flick, and when I get into the part where I choose
> project setting
> burning

It no longer gives me the option to 'burn project to disc'. The radio button is grayed out. I can now only 'Create ISO image'.

So my questions

-Is this something new to DVD FLIK?
-Can I use 'create an ISO image' to burn a DVD that will play in the DVD player
-Have I done something wrong?

I am not very tech saavy, and was psyched when I figured out (with the help of you tube tutorials) how to use this. Now I am bummed. I have been using this to make DVD's my 10 month old, and want to continue.

I uploaded DVD flik to another computer and checked it out. The same thing is happening. (Although on the second computer I did not even add and video footage. I just looked at the radio buttons)

Any help on the dvd flik would be appreciated. If I can't get answere on this, then my next round of questions will involve finding another solution.

Make the .ISO then burn with IMGBURN (it's free and found with google.)

Sorry but the clue to why DVD FLICK didn't offer to burn is not in your post but we can still make a Video DVD.

IMGBURN process?

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it possible that there is a glitch with some new updates on DVD flick? I was hoping for an answer on how to make FLIK work properly, and not need to learn a new method.

(By the way my desktop is windows 7)

Anyway, so when you are saying "make the .iso" , does that mean that the .iso does NOT put the video on my dvd? It saves it somewhere on my computer, and THEN I burn it with IMGburn you speak of?

Will this 'convert' it so my windows 7 computer will burn the videos from the Kodak ZI8 which is .mov. And then, I can play it on a DVD player?

Could you possibly just explain the process from start to finish?

Thanks for your time

Yes. And you seem to want a step by step or tutorial which is on the DVD FLICK site and I could bet there is an IMGBURN tutorial out there too.

Right or wrong I have to defer to such web sites as they do a much better and complete job since I can't put PICTURES into this forum.

You're very close to making your first video dvd.
