I bought a dvd player for my pc today, I have to all plugged in. Went to put a dvd in it... Nothing poped up. So I went to My Pc and tryed to open it up that way, and I froze Sad Then I rebooted... And it stayed at a black screen until I removed the dvd Sad.

Also, since I put the dvd player in, for some reason its not reading my cd burner to Sad

Please. Both of you haven't mention enough information for 'most' to work with. Just above the text editor where you entered your question is:

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

1. Start by reviewing and applies some of the recommendations in the MSKB article, "Troubleshooting DVD Playback in Windows Media Player for Windows XP (Q30631Cool", and "Supported Software MPEG-2 DVD Decoders in Windows Media Player for Windows XP (Q306331)."

2. The article, "Resources for Troubleshooting DVD Problems in Windows XP," is intended to assist you in using the DVD Troubleshooter that is included in Windows XP Help and Support Center, and to provide a list of online support services that may help you solve your problem.
