My appologies for the previous posts, they where from a friend who obtained my password and abused privelages. As far as my problem, i have a Samsung TS-H552 DVD+- Burner/CD RW combo, and the problem is, i cant read CD's, or DVD's. Perhaps someone could help me out?

Regards and Sincerity,

James

My bet is this is not a hardware issue.

I don't see what OS is at work here, but a post in the matching forum for the OS in use may be a good idea.

If it's the usual CODE 39 issue, look up how to remove the UPPERFILTERS and LOWERFILTERS on google.com

Now i can read regular CD's. Installing a program from one as we speak, flawlessly. Now, i tried reading from a DVD and the E:/ Drive Window froze when i clicked on it. Any handy little tricks for this?

Can't tell. Here's why.

No details about said DVD. If it was a video DVD then I'd say it could be a software issue and to try to uninstall and reinstall the DVD player software.

Again, the lack of details find this discussion without solutions.

Okay, i was trying to do both, watch videos(the punisher, dragons lair), from a video DVD, and install a game (obilvion) to my harddrive (Maxtor) 20gb IDE, and then everything stops responding when i explore the E:/ drive, which is the only CD/DVD drive i have. Perhaps their are drivers or something i need? If so i cant find them for i looked for about ten minutes on google.

James
