DVD Disc unuseable

Jan 30, 2005 10:08AM PST

I have now tried both nero 6 and Sonic MyDVD to biurn a combined slideshow + video DVD.
After waiting 4 hrs to complete (Both) discs are unuseable. Is not recognised by Explorer, Power DVD or any software. Will not play in DVD player either.
No error messages
My suspicion is that it may be the discs I am useing, but where do I go from here? Which discs should I buy with any certainty that they may work?
I have tested drive burning normal data CD and it works fine.
Any suggestions for a logical diagnosis pattern most appreciated.

I don't know much about either program you mentioned,

but I did notice the slide show reference.

What did you use to put the slideshow together, and what did you use to render it? Where did the video file come from? What format is it in?

Burner should be set to master on secondary Ide channel. Jumper set to master.
Check firmware update here.

Ive just burned quite a few memorex 8x cool color discs from walmart. Its either a 25 or 30 cake box.
They are Ritek disc and are quite good.

Nero may have another update for you. Go through preferences and unselect dvd overburn. Most users uninstall Incd as it causes problems of various sorts.

Make sure DMA is on.
