DVD Camcorder

Jul 13, 2006 5:26AM PDT

I am looking to buy a camcorder - leaning towards the DVD, just because it will be easy to pop into a dvd player to watch - looking at either panasonic or sony so far- what are some of the advantages/disadvantages of some of these models, looking for best picture quality - let me know - thanks!

http://reviews.cnet.com/Camcorders/2001-6500_7-0.html?tag=ont.cam lists such with reviews but the ongoing compliant are the following items.

1. Bump it too hard during recording and the entire disk contents can vanish.

2. Editing said content on PC or Mac has proven to be problematic. The camcorder makers and suppliers don't talk to you about this.

3. Early units would corrupt the disc if it was "too full." Odd problem for a consumer product.

If editing is a concern, you don't want this type of camcorder.
