Is that DVD burner an upgrade to your original hardware?

In the Properties for your DVD drive, are there any errors listed under Device Status?

What DVD burning program (and version) are you using?

Is it a DVD+/-RW

If it is a DVD+RW only, it won't rcognize a DVD-RW, I have a player under my TV and it only uses DVD+R\RW's
I am searching for a burner that is CD/DVD+/-R or RW for my Gateway and almost bought the wrong item for it was DVD+/-R & RW Only so ti would compliment my CD/DVD-ROM but my burner is only a CD-R/RW. Look at what you have: phillips dvd+rw 6100dvd, a dvd-r or rw will not work. Darrell Lewis

Marissa, do you have a CD that installs drivers for your DVD

+R? I have PowerDVD and mine has many choices, it did need an update. Now it plays DVD's, DVD-R's & RW's, CD+/-R & RW's. That is just for the reader. The burner uses Nero and all the things it can do has a dot on each and it is Phillips. I just ordered a Memorex for the burning of the majority, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW,, CD-R & CD-RW for my PC. Most but not all, DVD+R can burn CD-R's. But you have the wrong type of DVD to use. Buy DVD+R's. Get a small amount to see if it burns (a five pack) Darrell Lewis
