NO. At least not reliably. The software may even prevent it. The drive prices have dropped drastically buy one that gives the performance that you want.
I'm looking at geting this DVD...

# 2. Faster CD functions: 24x write CD-R, 10x rewrite CD-RW and 40x read CD.
# 3. Compatibility with DVD players and DVD ROM drives
The Question...
Can you Burn CD R's at 48X and 52X with this burner.....
