DVD burner not working properly

by Jack Benesch / September 9, 2007 1:35 AM PDT

I have a Dell Demension 8400 running WindowsXP Pro. I am able to burn 600Megs with no problem but when I try to burn 900 or more it freezes up the computer and then says there is no info on the disk. My process is to select the pictures I want to burn and select send to the burnes. After burning I select make compatiable. When that is don the disk ejects. When I gor to revied the disk it freezes up the computer and I have to reboot. Any ideas?

Most CD burners and SW programs let you burn something
by VAPCMD / September 9, 2007 1:44 AM PDT

less than 700MBs per CD. If 600 MBs work....might be better to stick with that than trying to compress 900MBs on a CD whose capacity is 700MBs.

Might help to tell us what CD burning SW you're using.

It's the DVD burner

I should have mentioned it's the DVD burner not the CD. DVD's should hold over 4 GB

Does every disc delivered the same result?
by morphose / September 9, 2007 9:57 PM PDT

Sometimes the problem is the disc, even it is new.
If the disc is OK, try another burning software instead. This one is great.
