Dvd burner and DVD drive not recognized

Apr 19, 2005 10:38AM PDT

Hey,
like I said in the passed I have built a new computer, running Windows XP home edition
recently i took out the dvd drive from my sisters computer so i could rip and burn dvds at the same time; before that I had a dvd burner and a cd burner, now i have a dvd burner and a dvd drive. Before everything was working properly, but when I installed this dvd drive, neither of the drives are recognized in the device manager or in the add new hardware wizard. If you could please help thatd be great. I have been through so much with this computer. PS Ive already tried switching around the drives (dvd burner ontop the dvd drive or vise versa)

thanks sooooo much, I really appreciate your help. I realized that in my last computer the dvd drive was master and it was just a matter of switching the dvd drive to slave. Now it works and i can burn a dvd in less than an hour. I am really glad
Thanks again
