From easy to use and more...
Look at DVDSANTA, Ulead DVD MovieFactory, DVDLAB (and PRO!) http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/ then Adobe Premeire and continuing upwards to the AVID Pro software.
That's a big spread from about 30 to a few thousand dollars to see where you want to land.

Hi everyone,
I've been making some home movies and slideshows on my PC from footage captured from my DVD camcorder and some digital stills. I've completed a few and burned them to DVD's using Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator version 6 and Easy Media Creator version 7. Unfortunately, I'm finding I'd like a little more flexibility in creating the DVDs than the Roxio software offers. In version 6 you can create submenus, but you can't arrange the buttons (or should I say thumbnails) on the menus. In version 7 you can arrange the buttons/thumbnails, but it doesn't support submenus. I'm not crazy about either version's handling of chapters.
Basically I'm looking for a little more flexibility in authoring my DVDs. I've got $80 in Best Buy gift cards burning a hole in my pocket from Xmas, and can't decide what software to buy. I saw that Best Buy has an Adobe Premier Elements + Photoshop Elements Bundle on sale for $99 after an upgrade rebate (which I qualify for)...I thought this would be great. Get another NLE and Photo software, plus DVD authoring for $99, but after reading some of the posts on the Adobe forums it sounds like the DVD authoring in their package is even more limited than what I have.
I'd like to be able to create submenus and arrange buttons/thumbnails on the menu. I'd also like to option to replace the thumbnail/button you click on to select your movies with actual text that you could highlight like a commercial DVD (if possible). Lots of included themes would be great, but I could always bring the Roxio ones over if I needed more.
I've researched various packages, but getting really detailed information is hard from the sales hype on web pages. I'm hoping some users here could let me know what they're using and whether it will do what I want to do. I'd like to stay at $100 or less if possible.
Thanks,
Gary
