DV cable & terminal

I have bought a canon make camcorder MV730i for which I have not recieved the dv cable and terminal for my pc. I finding it difficult to transfer my tape recording to my pc to burn cd. please help me in identifying the these cables and software required for transferring the video recording from the camcorder cassette to my pc. please tell me where i can get these things in india, particularly in bangalore.

You should be able to get the cable specs from the

camera's manual. You can download the manual from Canon's web site. Ditto for the software. It's probably a standard cable available at places like Best Buy.

Your PC may already have a firewiare port, that's the first step. Most new PC's come with them. MY PC is 5 years old and it had one. It looks like a USB port, but bigger and rounded on one side.

Then go to any electronics store and get a:
4 to 8 pin FIREWIRE 1394 cable
Plug from camera to port!
