I'm sorry, but I don't understand your problem well enough to provide a possible answer. Can you provide an example of
a) the results of the query (multiple records for one person, I assume), in table or spreadsheet format (just a block of data)
b) the report definition that isn't working correcty (what's in the detail section; what's in the different headers and footers)
c) the erroneous results for this block of data with this report definition
d) the results wanted
It will be a LONG post, but that doesn't really matter. Putting an example database on a website, or providing it as an attachement to a private mail can be done later, if the normal way doesn't work.
I have 3 tables that have been joined together in my relationship window. I have created a query using these tables asking to show me the answer to a YES/No field. I run the query it works. WONDERFUL. Then I take the query and build my report. Basically the extraction for the query is the person name and address, confirmation (yes/no), and dates available.
when creating the report, it works as long as the labels are in the page header section and the bound controls are in the detail section. However, my objective is to set my report in a letter format for the information to feed into a pre-printed form. So, I have moved the address bound controls into the Page Header Section and left just the dates bound controls in the detail section. By doing so, when I do a print preview it doubles my dates.
I have tried by using Hide Duplicates to the date bound controls and also have gone back to the query as well to Hide Duplicates. Mind you the query provides the correct answers. So the issue is with the report.
Solution: the solution patch that I have found is that I only have 1 record selected with the check mark in the YES/NO, the report is PERFECT. HOWEVER, I would like to run the report based on more than one check mark in the Yes/NO. For example, if I have 5 out 20 records with check mark in YES/NO, I want the report to provide the date once not twice. How do I rectify this problem?
