Duplicate mail messages in Sent items

by Aminthule / June 22, 2015 5:16 AM PDT

I am using a Hotmail account in the Apple Mail app. Why does every email I send out appear twice in the Sent items under hotmail?

Not sure why this would be happening but,

given that Hotmail is a Microsoft endeavor, it shouldn't cause any surprise.

Is Hotmail the only account you have set up in the Mail app?

There are too many prior discussions.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / June 22, 2015 3:04 PM PDT isn't about Hotmail but is about imap.

The mail app logs the sent item, the imap service shows it sent and you get 2. To fix it, change one thing.

"Check to be sure that you don't have the check box set to save a copy of sent items in the sent folder. Using the hotmail server for sending mail does that for you."

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
