NASA panel finds heavy alcohol use by astronauts before launch: journal report

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - On at least two occasions, U.S. astronauts were allowed to fly after flight surgeons and other astronauts warned they were so drunk that they posed a flight-safety risk, an aviation weekly reported Thursday.

An independent panel studying astronaut health found "heavy use of alcohol" before launch, according to Aviation Week & Space Technology, which reported the finding on its website.

Don't get in the car with someone that is drinking/drunk.

Get in a rocket.
