What many learn is that Microsoft does not update BIOS or drivers for the motherboard, USB, audio, video or much else, but installs the OS just to the point you (the OS installer) can install the drivers or update the BIOS.
Just because the motherboard is new doesn't mean the BIOS is uptodate.
I was using my Lexmark X 5150 on both systems. I replaced my Motherboard and Video card due to failing from overheating. I had to go to MS for new install numbers.
I have not been able to use the printer on WINXPPRO since. I contacted MS to no avail. I contacted Lexmark also, and tried all their sugestions to no avail. Any information would be greatly apperciated. This is a home built system. AMD 750 with a Shuttle A161 Mainboard W/ 512 Ram.
