DUEL BOOT MAC+WINDOWS, IS IT POSSIBLE?

Feb 22, 2011 5:28AM PST

I installed windows 7 on my mac pro mc516lla. The installation is working very nicely, only problem is once you start in windows, pc will continue to use windows as default OS (same applies for mac also). Is it possible by any means that while starting both the options will be displayed during startup and the OS which needed for that session can be directly selected without entering the default OS and bootcamp?

refer to the Boot Camp documentation for which key to press.

I believe it is the Option key, held down at startup

True Dual Boot

Is possible only if you use a program like Parallels or VMWare Fusion. Otherwise you are single booting, though you can boot to different OSes.

To do that use a program like Boot Champ or something similar. Search Macupdate.com or http://download.cnet.com/mac/3151-20_4-0.html?tag=vtredir to search for the programs. The search term should include Boot Camp.

I believe the term Dual Boot refers to the ability

to boot into either OS but not simultaneously.

Judging by what the OP wrote,
Quote:
"is it possible by any means that while starting both the options will be displayed during startup and the OS which needed for that session can be directly selected without entering the default OS and bootcamp?"
unquote,
I believe that that was the intent of the original question.

Except they clearly said "duel boot" so that means that they are in opposition with one another. Only one can have access to the system at a time. There can be only one!

Sorry, but who could pass up an opportunity to dust off a Highlander joke?
