General discussion

Dual touch screen

Mar 5, 2006 11:24PM PST

Hi,

Is it possible to connect a small touch screen monitor to my PC as a secondary monitor and if so is there specific hardware i'd need to do it?

Also can you only use touch screens with limited software?

Thanks for any help,

Yes, Thanks, that's what i'm looking for, just wondered if that can be added as a secondary monitor and whether you can use the touch screen for applications such as outlook or internet explorer etc?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks,

Do I need any specific software or extra hardware to run the screen and use everyday applications with the touch screen?

In short, an OS and a dual output card.

The touchscreen will emulate a mouse so that alleviates any special software.

You seem to want to ask something specific or you never used a dual screen PC before.

Yes, I've set up a dual screen but never with a touch screen so don't really understand how it works. Does it just recognise the monitor as if any other monitor and the touch screen as if any other mouse?

Thank you for your help by the way.

Yes. It works almost exactly like a mouse. In fact...

All I do to accomadate it in my software is to supersize the buttons.

That's great, thanks very much for your help. I'm sure I'll be able to work it out from there.

Cheers
