Dual monitor music program

Jun 27, 2011 6:21AM PDT

I am looking for a program that when I have dual monitors connected, that it will allow me to choose the music on one monitor without interrupting the visualizations/ video's playing on the second monitor. (Example: Set up a playlist and choose from your music/ music video's from your main screen and it will be playing either visualizations on the second screen or the video selected from the first screen.)

Never found such a thing. MAYBE you could create such with free versions of Visual Studio?

Not sure what that means

I have a dual monitor setup for my Windows 7 computer.

When I play music from tracks I have stored on my hard drive, my chosen media player plays the tracks and I hear the sound come out of the speakers. No visuals required. However, if I play a music video, or if I play just music but use a player like Windows Media Player that can, if I wish, show visuals, then the player shows the video or the visuals. It doesn't matter which monitor I use for that, and in fact I can drag the 'visuals' part across to either monitor I choose.

So in your example, a simple music track is playing out of my speakers, but if WMP is showing visuals it is on either monitor I choose.

I can choose the music I play from my own playlist, which is the File Manager opened to the folder that has my music files, and that window can be on the other monitor if I wish.

Unfortunately that was a given for me, but I'm looking for something different. I thought i described what I was looking for quite well.. I have seen this happen with software before but I cannot find out what it was called.

If you can't find it, why not make it?

Then your options are severely limited.

Hopefully someone will make such an app some time.

Real Player Plus

Did you try Real Player Plus 15?
Its has a feature called toolbar mode and it puts the player controls on a toolbar just above the taskbar. It gives you separate windows for your player controls, library media, playlist, and video / visualization.
