dual monitor issues

Oct 24, 2006 10:00AM PDT

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my dual monitor setup. I have a 19" Viewsonic VX924 monitor, and an old Dell E551A 15" monitor. My video card is a BFG nVidia 7900GTX OC, with 9.1.4.7 (latest) drivers installed on it. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. Often, when i turn on the computer from being off, or wake the computer up from sleep, the digital monitor doesn't "wake up", only the analog monitor. The solution I use, which usually works, is unplug all the monitors, and the power of the digital and the computer tower. Then, I turn it on with just the digital plugged in. It wakes up, then i plug in the other and it boots. Device manager shows 3 "default monitors", and the digital and the analog. I have the 3 defaults turned off in device manager. In windows settings, its set up as the digital being primary monitor and analog extend monitor onto this desktop. In the nvidia setup, it says "displays configured independently from each other (dualview)". Any suggestions?

Thanks so much, this is getting on my nerves.
