All the setups I see today is to pop a video card into the desktop that gives us DisplayPort 1.2 or beyond.
No adapter seems to do what you ask so my bet is the reasons are baked into the hardware which I will defer to the makers.
Fix? Just try some adapters, ask the makers (like Startech) or cave and replace the GPU.
PS. Regarding my title message. Yes I see the adapters for sale but no longer in the usual shops because, not much call for these today.
Hey all. I'm coming here because this search for my most needed adapter is very much unyielding at this point due to the nature of the adapter (on the rare side it seems). I need an adapter that goes Dual Link DVI-D to DisplayPort 1.2 for a monitor that needs to A) Work on 1080p AT 144hz, and B) enable Freesync with my NVIDIA GPU. And since FreeSync won't work with HDMI for nVidia GPU's, it needs to be DisplayPort.
So, where in the world is such an adapter? Could someone help me procure a place on the internet that sells DL-DVI-D to DisplayPort 1.2? I am really at the end of my rope with google, and really would like to avoid doing something like getting a new video card just because I don't have enough DisplayPorts. Also, if the adapter isn't around, would something like a DisplayPort 1.2 Hub work with nVidia Surround, 144Hz, and Freesync?
Thanks in advance guys.
