I always thought that connecting up headphones automatically disabled speakers, and that this was by design.
Maybe I got that wrong.

Ok I bought my Dell Studio 1555 back in July 2009. Previously I have only ever required one of the two (yes two) headphone ports on the side for my Logitech Z323 2.1 speakers. However I now need to use both of the headphone ports simultaneously, one for the speakers and one for actual headphones. But when I plug both devices in, only one of them has any sound coming out. I have found I can control which of them has audio by changing which one is set as the default device in the Windows Sound controls. However this doesn't help with getting audio through both devices simultaneously.
My laptops specs are:
2.1Ghz dual core processor
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit edition
4GB RAM
Dedicated graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 series) with 512Mb memory
Sound is provided by a Microsoft High Definition Audio Device
Any help people could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Andy
