RE: ''How would a dual core 2.8 GHz compare to a single core 3GHz with HT?''

Don't know of any comparison benchmarks yet. The single core 3GHz 630 processor has 2MB of L2 cache and the 64-bit technology (EM64T). There is no 620 (2.8GHz) processor to compare against the Dual Core 820 2.8GHz processor.

Comparing the 520 or 520J (2.8GHz) processors against the 630 or 820 processors is not feasable as the 5xx series have 1MB of L2 cache and no EM64T technology.

Although the three 8xx series dual core processors have the 2MB L2 cache, EM64T, 90nm tech, 800MHz FSB, Socket LGA775, only the 820 (2.8GHz) does not have the, ''Enhanced Intel
