Dual Boot XP & Fedora 13

Sep 2, 2010 7:18PM PDT

Hi,

I would like to dual boot XP pro and Fedora 13 on 2 separate hard disks, with XP on one and Fedora on the other.

Is it necessary to put the Fedora boot partition in the XP partition? And how to do this?

Your advice is much appreciated.

I installed XP first and then Fedora's (latest please) would install it's boot loader on the first drive and the Fedora on the second drive without much fuss. I just answered the questions during install.

As to is it necessary. Why not install it the easy way?

Just install Fedora and avoid formatting windows in setup procedure.

But boring technical idea behind this is that Linux installation will install GRUB boot loder and move boot partition to Linux / partition or /boot partition away from XP.But still GRUB is able to boot win and Linux and other OSes even from not boot partitions.
Still if you will try to install windows after Linux windows setup will screw everything to *.
