in linux open gparted (gnome partition manager) and set the boot flag for the windows disc and turn it off on the usb disc
I have windows xp in my laptop(IDE) and red hat linux in external hard disk and I have installed grub in mbr when installing linux in external hard disk.
Both works as i get the option whether to log in to xp or linux . Everything looks OK .
Now ,When the external hard disk is not connected with my laptop , I can not log in to windows and I see "GRUB" on the blank screen and then nothing happens.. no key works .
Is there any way i can log in to windows XP without external hard disk TURNED ON ? Please help .
Again , in external hard disk(for linux) , have partition as /boot where grub files (grub.conf) is installed .
