Some will setup such a system and after working very hard on the XP OS decide to dump the Windows ME partition and just run XP as the boot OS.
This is when some scream in agony that no supported method exists to "move" that tuned XP setup to the boot position.
Just so you are aware.
In closing, I know of no BIOS that will support "a second bootable partition", but most will allow selection of a drive or device. The boot manager is still in the MBR.

This message was acidentally posted in the hardware forum as well. Please accept my apologies.
I?ve got a Windows ME PIII 833mhz machine with a 20 GB primary drive and an 80 GB secondary drive. I want to install a second bootable partition on the primary drive and install Win XP Pro on it for DAW purposes.
The problem is my Windows ME C: drive is at 6.5 GB. Will it be possible to create another partition on the drive and still make it bootable for Win XP pro? I?ve been reading about the infamous ?1024 cylinder DOS limit? about how a bootable partition must be within the first 1024 sectors (approx 8.5 GB) of the physical drive, and I?m wondering whether or not I can do what I want to do. I think it must be possible, since I?ll still be within the first 8.5 GB, but I?d like a confirmation.
Has anyone out there had a similar experience? Any insight would be fab.
Thanks a bunch.
