Too bad nobody warned you about this.
However some video players like VLC Player do have a delay adjust. Here's the google.
On my PC, I have a second sound card (ASUS Xonar DG). I am running that my main playback device and my auxiliary desk speakers are plugged into it. My recording devices are defaulted at the Stereo Mix for the sound card. Inside of the Stereo Mix settings, in, "Listen" I have the TV that I am using as a second display, as the default playback device. I checked the, "Listen to this device" box as well. The TV is connected by an HDMI cable. The auxiliary speakers are noticeably ahead of the TV audio. If I plug in the auxiliary into the original sound port in the back of my pc, the delay is a bit better. If I plug in the auxiliary into the front sound port of my pc, the delay is even slightly better than the port in the back. In either of those ports however, the audio is much more quieter and there still is a noticeable delay in the audio. If there is any need for clarification, I will be glad to give more information. Thank you.
