DSO Exploit

Aug 24, 2004 2:50PM PDT

When scanning for spyware with SpyBot DSO Exploit is indicated as spyware. I eliminate it with SpyBot but the next time I go online and then check SpyBot DSO returns. I have found it in the registry and deleted it there but it keeps coming back. Any suggestions?

It is a glitch with Spybot and isn't really an error or spyware. Do you have all of the Windows updates for your operating system? That is one way to stop this. Either ignore it (you do this through Spybot's settings), download all updates or go to Spybot's website and look at FAQs.

Go to the below address to read an explanation of the DSO exploit. It also includes a program (DSOStop2.exe) that you can download and fix the problem. It's not a SpyBot problem but rather a problem that MicroSoft hasn't patched yet.
