I am having problems with my SBC yahoo 2wire router. Can I purchase another brand of DSL router and connect with my sbc dsl account?

Opinion and fact. . .

Opinion - my entire network from the cable modem, the router, and all NICs (wired and wireless) are D-link. Zero problems, great on line support, and I sent an email once for help and got an answer back within a few hours.

Fact - Most won't admit it, but mixing brands can cause trouble. Stay with one brand if at all possible. Although mix and match is supposed to be ok, each brand has it's own protocols and will recognize each component in the network. My D-link system when turned on, looked at all the components, said hello, and done.

I'm not pushing D-link per say, there are good brands out there. Shop around for the best price and support. Just try to keep all components the same brand.
