Question

DSL Modem (bonded)

Jan 15, 2020 9:21AM PST

Windstream customer. Hate it, but only service available.

Wanting to use aftermarket modem because their modems keep going bad on me after a couple of months. This seems to be a popular model:
https://www.amazon.com/MOTOROLA-Gigabit-MD1600-CenturyLink-Frontier/dp/B077NNGNJM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=md1600&qid=1572383921&sr=8-1&linkCode=sl1&tag=bluegadget5-20&linkId=4fa8cce4b6f46cae9a748d7be5bf49f1&language=en_US
But it says it is not compatible with bonded DSL.
The modem that Windstream sends me has the two DSL1 and DSL2 lights on the back.

Is there a modem out there that I can use that is compatible with bonded DSL?

Windstream branded

These all seem to be Windstream branded modems that they supply to their customers. My experience with Windstream tech support is never positive. I'm always talking to someone who is just reading from a script and will not offer any extra help.
After speaking with someone on the live chat, all they could tell me was that I needed a "VDSL2 bonded modem or just a bonded modem."

Then you have to take a chance.
