Maybe tell more?

In the usual home setup, there's a modem and a router. And if you change the modem (from an ADSL-modem to a cable modem) the LAN side of the router shouldn't notice it.
The configuration might be different in your company?

Check Configs on all devices

Check to see on the the 2 nodes that have to release and renew, that you dont have any static gateway or DNS info in the TCP/IP properties.

Also ...clear the DNS cache
C:\>ipconfig /flushdns

I am assuming that you didnt change your router??? If you did make sure the DHCP server on the new router has identical IP Ranges and and config as the old one.

If you had to enter static DNS info into the router try letting the router pick up that info from the modem. You can also check to see if from IPCONFIG the DNS info being provided and also check the DNS info in the router and modem...see if they are different
