dsl cable or dial-up

i am trying to download windows live mail .in one box it asks
dial-up 56k or dsl cable 256k/768.
i dont know what to put.i have a telephone line to my pc.
also a dsl cable from my microfilter to my router.what do i click. any ideas'

Dial-up is incredibly slow nowadays compared to all other internet connections. For example, any of the pages in these CNET forums would take an age to load completely, and an age means well over 10 minutes, if not more.

If these pages load reasonably quickly for you, (less than a minute), then you are on a DSL internet connection.

I would choose the DSL connection.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
