I just hooked up my Verizon DSL and now my answering machine wont work! I have gone through two digital answering machines--an AT&T and GE. GE tech support was useless and said maybe some machines are not compatable with DSL. I brought the machine back to Best Buy and not one of their tech guys had ever heard of such a problem. Verizon tech support was equally stumped.
The machine plays the outgoing message and seemingly starts to record a message, but after about 10 seconds, it beeps and then no message is left behind, nor is their any evidence that a call has come in. the other odd symptom is that on both machines the "lo battery" light was always on despite it being plugged in and having a new battery inside. The DSL filters are properly installed and both the internet and my phones work fine.
Anyone have any ideas??
